2025 Recap | A Year in Review

What a challenge 2025 was. AMIRIGHT?!

BUT, with the challenges came many bright, beautiful times as well. It is with the utmost gratitude that I thank each and every one of you for following me along this journey and allowing me intimate glimpses into your lives. The trust it takes to let someone see all the sides of your family is huge and it’s an honor I take to heart.

Below are a few (too many) of my favorites from 2025. There are so, SO many more, but if I shared them all, we’d be sitting here for a week pouring over photos!

Branding Session | Oh Sew Joyful

My dear friend, Liz, created a kids clothing brand - Oh Sew Joyful - because her daughter’s loved playing hard AND dressing up like princesses, but so many of the things in stores were fragile, difficult to wash, were scratchy… you get the drift. So she started her own clothing line, clothes princesses can play in. Soft fabrics, machine washable, designed to be wearable for years (skirts are a bit longer than store bought!) and prints that kids love. Her own children go with her to choose fabrics, so these are by kids, for kids and handsewn by Liz.

She’s constantly trying new designs, each print has a limited run and you’ll never see it in a big-box store, so you know what your kiddo is wearing is truly custom!

We’ve been friends for nearly 20 years and when she was first starting out she’d send pieces to June now and again and they’re easily among my daughter’s favorite dresses. They’re bright, colorful, fun and so, so soft. She got marker and chocolate icecream on it and it CAME OUT SO EASILY! I was honestly surprised, I thought we ruined it on the first wear…. but thanks to Liz’s keen eye for fabrics, she knew just what she was doing and the dress still looks perfect today.

Now that she’s been at it for a couple years and gaining interest, it was time to get her a website up and running and I was tickled when she asked me to photograph her pieces. I gathered up a group of littles from 2- almost 6 and we had a day of it playing outside. Swing, trapeze, bubbles, chasing each other around, ice cream - truly the perfect summer afternoon.

Also, a note about branding photography - it can be anything you dream of! It doesn’t have to be stiff portraits at your desk, it should reflect your brand! And this brand is all about color, movement and JOY!
